If you have been found not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder after committing a criminal offence, the Review Board for mental disorder (RBMD) must assess whether you pose a significant risk to public safety. The RBMD has the power to impose fairly restrictive conditions on your freedom. It can order your detention in a hospital or impose a housing resource on you, in addition to conditions related to medication.
